Mike’s Custom QC Lab
We are always improving our QC procedures, but the new QC lab built for our Dremel machine output is beyond all expectations. Mike recently gave us a tour of this new facility in our Building Two warehouse and pointed out a few of the features that make this a marvel of design and efficiency. First, the entire QC process is semi-automated with computer terminals at every station that guides and documents each step of quality control. This in itself would be impressive (Mike wrote and programed the process himself) but the station design and layout are also huge innovations in the procedure. Each station, along with the computer, has a pull out keyboard, hand scanners, tool drawers, mini camera and a spinning platform (Lazy Susan) to easily rotate the machine and to avoid back injuries. Everything is custom designed for error-free QC and creating a top-notch product. Truly exceptional!
Guess Who I Am?
So if I were just give you a fun description of one of our managers in the company, without saying their name, do you think you could guess who it is? In the true spirit of fun (and recognition of their backgrounds and talents) let’s play “Guess Who the Manager Is”.
This person served his country in not one but 2 branches of the military. Was he preparing to open his own Army-Navy store ?
He has been likened to Sergeant Hulka from the movie Stripes, the veritable "Big Toe" of unit.
A devout Cleveland Sports fan, he has suffered through the majority of the Indians long dry spell (70 years of so since they won a WS) . His beloved Browns had gone 635 days since winning a football game, prior to the miracles of late. Yet he refuses to think of Cleveland as "the mistake by the lake". He is a real trooper.
He is the go to person when car troubles surface. In fact to anyone who has approached this person with a problem, it is known that he has a heart as big as his body. Gruff exterior aside, he is genuinely a kind soul.
Do you know? He is none other than our Sales Manager, Keith Clement.
Return of the Hero Awards Lunch
It is time again to award an FSL hero who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to be an exceptional person to work with. Our first recipient was Frank Smith (Frankie!), who has posted the prestigious "Duck Award" in his office. Now that honor goes to...Donna Macaulay! Congratulations on being a true FSL hero, Donna.
Back again next week. Keep going strong!
