Hello Laser Fans!

I first want to thank everyone who reads this blog. The entire point of its existence it is to create a community of designers and makers who want to meet new friends, share ideas and designs for laser cutting and 3d printing, and create amazing things together as artists and dreamers. More that DIY (Do It Yourself), this blog is also about DIWO (Do It With Others).

Secondly, I would like to introduce myself as the new writer of this blog. Hello, my name is Scott. Although I am new to the maker-culture, I am no stranger to the concept of open sharing of ideas and designs for the betterment of the community. I love the solidarity I have seen and experienced with people with common interests and it is my hope that we build on that foundation right here.

Going forward, this blog will be much more active, with a least one new blog post each Monday. We will present free designs, topics of interest to the maker community, and above all, be a place for support in the Maker Community for all things laser created.

This week, I wanted to share a peek at something we will be showing at Maker Faire Bay Area 2016. 3d printed clothing is one of the great potentials of 3d printing technology and nothing is more basic than shoes. This is perhaps the not the most functional shoe (please don’t try to walk in them) but it shows where some creative imagination can go.

Next Monday I will share the design files to make these - for artistic purposes only - shoes for yourself.
