Coming Soon: Laser 101

Friday, November 18, 2016

We are big advocates of DIY culture. So much so we are always looking for ways help makers become better at their crafts. Now, to us, a laser cutter is a pretty robust yet simple tool to use. But we also realized we eat, drink and sleep all things “laser cutter” all year long; so perhaps our familiarity with them may not be typical.

Too Good Not to Share

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Last week I shared the design files for a set of one-of-a-kind Halloween coasters. This week I was going to feature something for our 3D printer fans, however, our amazing artist, Vanessa, wowed us again with these beautiful composition notebook covers.

Halloween Coasters For Everyone!

Thursday, October 13, 2016

Halloween is almost here, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to share some Halloween design files for your laser cutter. These original creepy coasters will bring gloom and doom to your Halloween festivities and everyone will want them for themselves.

Invent Off Returns. And We Were There!

Friday, September 9, 2016

Here’s something cool. We recently sent one of our own to Qualcomm’s Invent Off Season Two competition in San Francisco. This year’s competition challenged two small but diverse teams of artists, coders and engineers to create a new device that could save a life. It is all about using technology to make the world a better place, which, of course, is something we fully support.

Laser Cut Stained “Glass”

Thursday, June 30, 2016

The past few weeks we’ve been looking at some impressive pieces people have been making with 3D printers. This week I thought we would switch gears and see what interesting projects a clever mind and a laser cutter can do. Our own, in-house creative genius, Vanessa, made a beautiful stained glass replica out of laser cut acrylic. I’ve attached links to a couple videos she made, chronicling the process.

Tales From JCK

Come See Us At JCK Las Vegas

Friday, June 3, 2016

Sorry for the late (and brief) post this week. We returned from Maker Faire and immediately started preparing for JCK Las Vegas (conveniently in our own back yard). JCK is the biggest jewelry convention in North America attracting thousands of jewelers and jewelry related vendors to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Maker Faire Report

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

We had such a great time at Maker Faire Bay Area we couldn’t contain our experience in one blog post. So here is a closer look at all the festivities. We also want to give a special shout out to our friends, Greg and Lora, at Steamy Tech (www.steamytech.com). They create amazing, moving gears and steampunk inspired crafts using our laser cutters and 3D printers. True Maker kindred souls!
